The
dating scene is brutal... Some people just seem to breeze through it
like its nothing. They just have people fall in their laps and BOOM,
they're suddenly off the market. For the rest of the population, it makes those left, want to slap the lucky ones upside the head with a
slimy electric eel...
Have you
ever felt that pull to someone, that you've only known a short time, that
is like nothing else you've experienced? That one person that makes
the flutters in your chest feel stronger... That one person that
makes the swarm of butterflies in your stomach feel that much bigger
than all the others... That one person who is on the same page of
their life book as you are... That one person that you can actually
envision a future with, rather than just only being able to see the
now... That one person that you tell yourself over and over and over
again, to not let in, because you know that if it doesn't last, it
will break you so much worse than anyone has before, but you do it
anyway, because you just honestly cannot help but do so, because even
though the potential for a tonne of pain is there, you know it is so
very worth it?
Maybe if
you're lucky, that person will be ready for you and for the
challenges that lay ahead, in what has the potential to be
incredible! Maybe if you're lucky, you'll find someone that doesn't
push you away at the first sign of some of their baggage falling off
the carousel. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll find someone that trusts
you enough to know that you will be there beside them, to pick up
that baggage, help them sort through the contents and then help them
lift it back up onto the carousel with them, together.
Maybe if
you're lucky, you will find this person and be able to dig your heels
and your heart in and keep a hold of them.
But then
again... Maybe not...
Maybe
you'll be left wondering... Was I just the rebound? Was I just the
scratcher of an itch? Was I too much for them? Did I really mean as
much to them as they said? Did I really find my way into their heart
as well, like they said I did or were they just saying what they
thought I wanted/needed to hear?
Maybe if
you're lucky you'll get the answers to these questions... Maybe if
you're lucky, they just need a little more time and will come back to
you when they're ready for you and what you could be together.
But then
again... Maybe not...
